Having the best concealed carry holster is obviously important for anyone who frequently carries. They are especially important for safety and reliability for when you need it most. The part that many people forget is that having the best concealed carry belt is often just as important. Soft or thin belts can sag from the weight of your gun and give away that you are carrying. If you are looking to carry a concealed weapon, having the best gun belt for the job is crucial.
Features of a Concealed Carry Belt
Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) belts, sometimes called tactical belts, are relatively simple but have one major characteristic that sets them apart from regular belts. CCW belts must be sturdy and are often made from a very thick leather or other sturdy material. We recommend a leather gun belt, however there are a few canvas tactical belts that made it on our list. You will notice the top 3 tactical belts on our list below are leather, while canvas belts fall below. However, many people prefer canvas, so if you carry every day you may want to invest in each to test them out.
In addition to the material, tactical belts should be about 2 inches longer than a normal belt you would wear to accommodate extra room for your concealed carry holster.

The Ultimate Concealed Carry Leather Gun Belt
Normally we have a tough time ranking our “best of” lists. Not this time. The Ultimate Concealed Carry Leather Gun Belt by Relentless Tactical is without a doubt the best concealed carry belt. This CCW belt is made from a single piece of full grain 14 ounce leather from the United States. This thing is sturdy – the belt won’t sag or stretch out from the weight of your weapon. Relentless Tactical even gives a lifetime warranty with it. We traditionally recommend concealed carry belts that are 2 inches, however this 1.5 inch belt is as sturdy, if not more, than the 2 inch belts.
Relentless Tactical recommends adding 4” to your normal belt size when ordering to accommodate space for your holsters. Two color options are available including black and brown, and two styles including stitched or basket weave. This is really the perfect belt for every day carry. Even without carrying, this belt still looks good. I strongly encourage you to check out their Amazon reviews. With just under 600 customer reviews, the Ultimate CCW belt is rated 4.9 stars out of 5.
Hanks Gunner Belt for CCW
Hank’s Gunner Belt continues the impressive leatherwork in very similar aspects to The Ultimate Concealed Carry Belt above. 14 oz and 1.5” of leather result in a very robust and durable everyday carry belt. One of the great features of Hank’s Gunner Belt is the easily removable belt buckle which is fastened with removable Chicago screws. Hank’s concealed carry belt also has a 100 year warranty and will replace it for free if it breaks. Similar to most leather belts, order a couple sizes bigger than normal – check out their size chart before ordering.
Hank’s Gunner Belt comes in a few more color options which is always a plus, including black, brown, chestnut, oak, and natural. Over 300 people reviewed this belt and it currently sits at 4.8 out of 5 stars. And for good reason.
Aker Leather Concealed Carry Belt
The Aker concealed carry gun belt, our third choice for best overall CCW gun belts which also happens to be made of leather. While it claims to be 1.5” like the other leather belts we reviewed, it seems slightly smaller, roughly 1 and 3/8 inches. Nonetheless, this belt is still tough enough to hold up your gun and extra clips without sagging. The Aker gunbelt resembles a traditional dress belt with leather lining, feathered edges, and a shiny metal buckle. The durability and traditional appearance of this belt make it a perfect everyday carry belt. This belt does use a reinforced strip of polymer to help prevent sagging.
As for color options, The Aker belt comes in black with chrome buckle or brown with brass buckle. Double check your size on their sizing chart and be sure to order a little bigger than your normal belts.
Uncle Mikes 8767-1 Reinforced Instructor’s Belt
Uncle Mike’s Reinforced Instructor’s Belt is our first recommended concealed carry belt that isn’t leather. Uncle Mike uses 100% nylon (black webbing) which is styled like traditional rescue and tactical belts. A polymer reinforcement between the two layers of sturdy nylon help prevent sagging, similar to Aker’s leather belt.
While the picture may look black, Uncle Mike’s Reinforced Instructor’s Belt is in fact “Ranger Green” to match a variety of tactical gear. Sizes go from medium to extra-large since this is adjustable. Once again, be sure to account for extra room from your holsters.
Elite CO Shooters Belt with Cobra Buckle
The Elite CO Shooter’s Belt is made of nylon and a patented load-bearing quick release buckle. Similar to Uncle Mike’s, the belt itself is 1.5” wide with an internal reinforced support to help support your holsters.
While holding the belt, you can tell it is not nearly as stiff as the first three leather belts reviewed in this write-up. However, if leather is not your thing or if you are looking for an awesome quick-release buckle, then Elite CO Shooters Belt is for you.
BLACKHAWK! CQB/Rigger’s Belt
The Blackhawk! CQB/Rigger’s Belt is made of 1.75” wide nylon with roughly 7,000lbs of tensile strength. Tensile strength is the force required to pull something such as rope, or in this case, a belt, to the point where it breaks.
Three adjustable sizes are available and four colors including black, olive drab, desert sand brown, and coyote tan. Check out a few of these five star user reviews:

5.11 TDU 1.5-Inch Belt
In traditional fashion, 5.11 offers impressive products at crazy cheap prices. The TDU belt falls around ~$20 depending on size and color selections. The 5.11 TDU belt is 100% nylon and 1.5 inches wide. 5.11 markets the belt in a unique way as well, including the ability to use it as a secure tie down or a second carry strap. 5.11 also includes a heavy duty non-metallic buckle so that it “won’t set off metal detectors”.
Three colors are available including black, brown, and green.
Blade-Tech Competition Gun Belt
Blade-Tech took a unique design approach with their Competition Gun Belt. Unlike the leather and nylon belts we reviewed, this belt is a two-piece designed for easy on and off access. The “inside” belt goes on like a normal belt would. The outside belt is where you attach your holsters and clips to, and then attach the entire outside belt to the inside belt via heavy duty Velcro. The combination of two belts really makes this sturdy without limiting movement from being over stiff.
There are many concealed carry belts on the market today. We felt the above list best represents the highest quality tactical belts available based on our analysis and customer reviews. Nylon belts can get the job done; however, if you’re willing to spend a bit more on a leather belt, you won’t regret it. Do you own one of these or own a different belt that didn’t make the best concealed carry belt list? We would love to hear your feedback below.
